Gafra’s Carnival Schedule: A Quick Peek

Hi guys……it’s Carnival here in Trinidad and so far I’ve gone to 3 fetes and tomorrow I’m playing Jouvert. I’ll try to video some of that but I tend to get carried away having fun and filming is the last thing on my mind. I’ve attached a clip of my last fete. It was called Farmhouse, it was crazy crowded but i had a blast. Fete at Carnival are normally either All Inclusive or Cooler fetes. This one was a cooler fete which means you walk with you drinks and you can also walk with your finger foods such as…jerk pork, fried chicken, fruit, chow, sandwiches, etc. You can also buy food at the fete as well as drinks. You meet everyone there and i tend to see people i haven’t seen in ages.

As that was my last fete, my next even is Jouvert which is tomorrow. Today is Sunday and we leave home dressed up in our Jouvert clothes at around 2:30am, meet at one venue then we all follow a music truck through the streets as we dance and jump and laugh and dance and have a few drinks until 9:00am. Then we return to the original meeting point for breakfast which is provided by the group that organised this band. There are many, many jouvert bands so on the road you tend to meet up with a lot of them and we tend to head to the Carnival Stage where all the pretty Mass will pass later in the day. AHHHH so much to explain….you have to experience it to understand.

So this video is a quick peek into y last fete so you get an idea of what or how many people are there.

I’ll check you with some jouvert coverage, hopefully.
